Mundy Cruises launches the ‘inspired by…’ collection based on top streaming sensations!

In order to highlight the incredible variety of itineraries available on a luxury cruise, small ship luxury cruise experts Mundy Cruising have curated an extraordinary collection of voyages inspired by the latest trends from the silver and small screen. The collection includes sailings that call in to secluded bays and tiny towns that can only be visited by small ship, as well as extraordinary events and onboard offerings, all of which have been inspired by the latest cinema hits and streaming sensations.

“This collection has been designed to give a fresh perspective on small ship cruising, and highlight just how innovative and ‘on trend’ the sector is,” says Edwina Lonsdale, Managing Director of Mundy Cruising.

This is part of a wider ‘set jetting’ trend in travel, which is seeing more and more people draw inspiration from places they’ve spotted on a TV series or in a movie, and visiting these destinations as part of their travels.

“It’s not trying to replicate what people have watched, rather it’s drawing elements of excitement, nostalgia or breathtaking natural landscapes and weaving them into an extraordinary journey to make it even more memorable, whether it be a thrilling Grand Prix, a quiet Greek island, an exceptional dining experience or a stunning natural landscape,” adds Alex Loizou, Director of Sales, Marketing and Operations at Mundy Cruising.

The collection is on sale now and comprises the following journeys:

Inspired by… Ripley (Netflix)

One of Netflix’s recent hits, Ripley – inspired by famous crime novel The Talented Mr. Ripley – is set in Italy’s tiny, clifftop town of Atrani, just a few minutes’ walk from the better-known Amalfi. With concerns over the crowds that the show might create this summer we can’t think of a better way to visit away from the hordes than on SeaDream’s tiny 112-guest yacht SeaDream I, sailing on 26th August 2026for seven nights on a Rome round-trip which includes an overnight call to Amalfi as well as Sorrento, plus time in Ponza, Capri and Bonifacio. Fares from £6,125 per person fly-cruise.

Inspired by… Dune: Part Two (now available on Sky)

It may seem strange to be inspired by the fictional desert planet of Arrakis, but for those keen to visit otherworldly destinations, a 15-night Cape Town round-trip with Silversea enjoys an overnight call to Walvis Bay on the cusp of the sun-scorched Namib Desert, where huge rolling sand dunes tumble into the sea. Departing 7th February 2025 the voyage also includes the chance to spot the iconic Big Five on safari during an overnight stay in Port Elizabeth and time in East London, Richard’s Bay and Durban, with fares from £6,995 per person fly-cruise, including a pre-cruise hotel stay in vibrant Cape Town.

Inspired by… Break Point (Netflix)

Joining Netflix’s recent ‘volley’ of sports documentaries, Break Point follows top tennis stars – including Nick Kyrgios, Matteo Berrettini and Ons Jabeur – on and off the court during worldwide tournaments and Grand Slams. Join in the excitement of ATP Masters tennis on one of two special departures operated by Seabourn on their new expedition ship, the 264-guest Seabourn Venture, sailing a handful of classic Mediterranean cruise itineraries with a difference. On 13th April 2025 a seven-night voyage departs Rome to call in Portoferraio, Portovenere, Cannes, St Tropez and Sete before an overnight call in Barcelona to attend the Barcelona Open, an ATP 500 event featuring some of the world’s best tennis stars. Fares from £11,119 per person fly-cruise.

Inspired by… One Day (Netflix)

This tear-jerking novel by David Nicholls has recently been adapted into a – similarly heart-wrenching – series for Netflix and features several well-known locations including Edinburgh, London, Rome and Paris, but it’s the Greek island of Paros that has captured viewers’ imaginations. Way off the usual cruising path, only a handful of the smallest vessels travel here, including Ponant’s 264-guest L’Austral on its ‘The Heart of the Greek Islands’ itinerary which also visits Patmos, Symi, Amorgos, Milos, Delos and Hydra on an Athens round-trip, departing 18th July 2024. Fares from £4,295 per person fly-cruise.

Inspired by… White Lotus (HBO)

HBO hit White Lotus’ season two brought together an eclectic mix of characters at the San Domenico Palace, a Four Seasons Hotel in the stunning Sicilian town of Taormina. An exclusive Mundy Cruising package combines a three-night pre-cruise stay here with a 10-night sailing on board the elegant 94-guest tall ship Sea Cloud II sailing 18th May 2025 from Catania, visiting the Italian delights of Otranto and Bari, and the Croatia towns of Vis, Rovinj and Sibenik as well as overnight call in Dubrovnik plus two days under full sails. Fares from £9,555 per person fly-cruise including three nights at the San Domenico Palace in a King Room with breakfast, 10 nights on board Sea Cloud II with all meals, drinks with meals, soft drinks, gratuities, international flights and all overseas transfers.

Inspired by… Chef’s Table (Netflix)

An Emmy-nominated Netflix series, Chef’s Table sees culinary stars from around the world sharing their gastronomic journeys as they redefine gourmet food with an incredible variety of innovative dishes. It’s with the same mouth-watering excitement that we’ve seen Explora Journeys’ exceptional restaurant Anthology host short tenures of the world’s most talented chefs including Italian chef Mauro Uliassi, Swedish Emma Bengtsson and most recently Claude Le Tohic, all of whom have won numerous Michelin stars. This innovative approach means constant gastronomic delights for guests travelling on board.

Inspired by… Emily in Paris (Netflix)
Netflix’s Emily in Paris, which follows non-French speaking American Emily as she lands a job in the French capital, took the world by storm, with three seasons and a fourth underway. You can make like Emily herself on AmaWaterways’ fabulous Impressions of the Seine and Paris cruise. This charming seven-night river voyage, departing weekly, includes an overnight in Paris to live your best Emily in Paris life, as well as visiting fairytale French châteaux and castles in Mantes-La-Jolie, stops at charming cities like Le Rouen, Havre and Bayeux for cheese and wine tasting and idyllic cycles through French countryside, and visiting sites inspired by Impressionist painters such as Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny. Fares from £3,750 per person fly-cruise.

Inspired by… Formula 1: Drive to Survive (Netflix)

Now into a sixth season, the Netflix hit Formula 1: Drive to Survive has captured F1 superfans and sceptics alike, combining the drama of car racing with the oh-so-glamorous locations in which the Grand Prix is held. Windstar visits the Prix du Monde in Monaco, the jewel of the F1 calendar, next May on the 342-guest five-mast Wind Surf: a perfect addition to the glittering array of yachts that dot Monte Carlo’s famous harbour. The seven-night sailing from Barcelona, which departs on 20th May, includes seats for Saturday’s time trials and Sunday’s final and a Prix du Monde themed cocktail reception and dinner on board, as well as a guest speaker who’ll provide behind-the-scenes insights, and additionally enjoys calls to Palamos, Sanary-Sur-Mer, Cannes, and Portoferraio, ending in Rome. Fares from £8,255 per person fly-cruise.
