Hope you have enjoyed your week!
Firstly a story which made international news! P&O Australiaβs ship, Pacific Dawn rescued three sailors in the Pacific Ocean after their boat was damaged and began to sink. The three men maintained radio contact with Alan Dockeray the Captain of Pacific Dawn, he picked up their distress call, then hardly had to alter course in order to rescue them. Have you ever been on a ship that went on to rescue sailors in need?

A huge piece of indirect cruise news this week has been the very sad collapse of Thomas Cook Travel Agency.
Most importantly I feel for all the Thomas Cook and Thomas Cook Airline employees. To find yourself unemployed overnight through no fault of your own is terrible I can not begin to imagine what these people are feeling. It is heart warming to see cruise companies, travel companies and airlines offer job applications specifically for ex Thomas Cook employees. I do hope many are back at work soon.
Far less important, however still important to people who have booked holidays is the uncertainty over their holiday booking. Cruise companies were very quick to release comments on twitter, hopefully putting customers minds at ease! Iβve added a selection below.
I do hope everyone with holidays booked are still able to go.
