Today Princess Cruises revealed they will launch a series of short UK cruises departing this Summer. These cruises will be available for UK and go on sale later this month.
Short breaks and weekend breaks will be available aboard Regal Princess and Sky Princess sailing from Southampton.
A βTruely touch lessβ experience awaits you aboard the two Medallion class ships. Princess explain that this wearable technology will significantly enhance guests experience whilst also supporting new health protocols. New features will include streamlined check ins, simplified safety training, reductions in queueing and the ability to order food and drink to anywhere on the Ship.
Tony Roberts, Vice President Princess Cruises UK & Europe said β Recent announcements from the UK Government on the roadmap to the end of the lockdown has given us all optimism that we will be able to have a Summer break. When restrictions are lifted, it is clear that holidays in the UK will be the first to restart before the gradual return of International Travel. We are eager to welcome our guests back onboard as soon as it is safe to do so. By offering a series of short UK breaks we can provide guests with a relaxed holiday at sea so they can enjoy a much needed getaway.β

Unfortunately to offer these new cruises some Princess Cruises had to be cancelled. Princess have cancelled sailing from Southampton on Sky Princess, Regal Princess and Island Princess until September 25th. If you were booked on these cruises Click here for further details.
This is such exciting news! Cruising is slowly making plans to return.
Having booked my first Princess Cruise yesterday and having a good few weeks of Annual Leave left this summer, Iβm so tempted to book another!
I do hope the covid situation continues to improve. It certainly feels a bit better in my professional NHS life, hopefully this slow reducing of lockdown works and then hopefully itβll eventually be safe to Cruise in the Summer!
Let me know if youβre planning on booking one? Do you think theyβll be Cruises to nowhere (which would be fabulous lots of sea days on a beautiful Ship, perfect) or maybe visiting a few UK ports. Itβll be interesting to find out later in the month when the cruises are released!
