Exciting news, released today about P&O Arvia.
Not only have we been treated to beautiful images of how Arvia will look, we’ve also been given a sneak peep into the features we can expect to find on board! This beautiful new ship will be the βepitome of a sunshine resortβ and also offers first-ever high ropes experience at sea!
P&O Cruises new Excel class ship Arvia, arrives in December 2022, we are told how she will feature Altitude Skywalk, a unique high ropes experience, a swim-up bar and a new restaurant Green & Co featuring Mizuhana serving a plant and fish-led menu! All sound like very exciting additions to a cruise ship.

I am so excited about that beautiful Swim up bar, I can definitely see myself spending a lot of time in that on a Caribbean cruise, especially on a sea day, what a fabulous idea, cooling in the pool, with a cold cocktail admiring the wake view! Maybe this is a sign of some sort of wearable tech being introduced to P&O too, as I donβt think my Cruise card would enjoy a dip.
It is definitely nice to see P&O adding adventurous additions to their new ships both as P&O Cruise addict and a Shareholder!
I’m a huge fan of the traditional ships, but also a huge fan of fun and innovation! Iona and Arvia definitely looks like fun ships to cruise upon! P&O report that the High ropes course is designed to appeal to all ages, guests will be able to choose two different adventurous Altitude Skywalk high ropes courses while 54m above the ocean. Wow, now that will be exhilarating , especially if we can use it on a Sea day! Another P&O first is Altitude Minigolf comprising of nine mini golf challenges, this will be located below Altitude Skywalk. Ah mini golf is so much fun! Looking forward to playing it aboard Arvia!
P&O explain how ‘Arvia is designed to bring guests even closer to the sea, sky and shore, reflecting its name meaning βfrom the seashoreβ, and will also feature P&O Cruises first-ever retractable roof SkyDome.’ SkyDome is a relaxed pool environment by day with dining and entertainment by night, including stunning aerial performances, theatre productions and blockbuster movies al fresco on SeaScreen.

Arvia will also feature twelve restaurants joined by a further eight more casual places to eat! A massive 20 eating places, all the more excuse to book a long cruise, when bookings available to try out all venues!
‘Green & Co featuring Mizuhana with a plant and fish-led menu, served in chic and elegant surroundings, has been especially developed for Arvia. Mizuhana sushi bar will be within Green & Co where guests can watch expert chefs at work while taking in sea views. Expert food-pairing advice and vibrant cocktails complete the experience.’
‘Also on board is 6th Street Diner, informal by day with a sophisticated night-time vibe, featuring retro seating, atmospheric lighting and juke box and serving all-American flavours including speciality fried chicken and waffles with bourbon mascarpone. Sounds absolutely delicious! I definitely want to visit 6th Street Diner!
P&O Cruises distinctive signature restaurants Epicurean, Sindhu, The Glass House, The Keel & Cow and The Olive Grove, already across the fleet, will feature on Arvia.
P&O Cruises president, Paul Ludlow, said:
βArvia is the latest evolution in the P&O Cruises experience, embodying the newest trends in travel, dining and entertainment, and will be the epitome of a sunshine resort sailing year-round to the warmest climates.
βNew restaurant Green & Co featuring Mizuhana will have a plant-led menu reflecting the latest trends in vegan, vegetarian and flexitarian dining while Altitude Skywalk and SeaScreen will entertain all ages.
Arviaβs extraordinary features maximise views of the ocean, seashore and destinations from everywhere on board while guests enjoy the next generation of on-board entertainment.β
P&O tell us how the impressive 185,000 tonne ship, will have 16 guest decks and will also be home to Ocean Studios cinema, 1,300sqm of shopping and the Oasis Spa and Health Club! The announcements about this fabulous Ship just keep getting better and better. I do hope the regular Mulbery, Jo Malone, Joules etc will feature in the 1,300sqm of Shopping!
The Oasis Spa aboard Arvia sounds divine, it boasts new treatments exclusive to Arvia – two couples suites each with a hammam and steam room ( I do love the idea of a couples treatment, but last time my husband and I had a treatment together we giggled through it! I think I need to persuade him to join me testing out the Couple suites on Arvia! Who could turn down the offer of relaxation!
We are also promised a therapeutic cool room, a restorative salt sauna and an invigorating Kneipp Walk which combines a pebble foot massage with hot and cold water treatments to stimulate circulation and boost vitality. The ultimate pampering for a day at sea, what better way to relax and restore.
