New York, New England and Canada on Emerald Princess, Princess Cruises.

I hope this Blog/Vlog inspires you to explore the East Coast of the US and Canada by Ocean. It was my first cruise exploring the region and definately will not be my last.

With a long journey to New York to embark on Emerald Princess, I ( and I highly recommend you do to, to avoid any stress) travelled over to New York a day early.

I share my vlog of my pre cruise stay in NYC, hopefully some of my adventures can inspire adventures for you!

It was soon time to embark on my cruise! I was travelling solo and could not wait to embark on this adventure with Princess Cruises! It was quite expensive, but worth every penny, (or cent) … See how I got to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and my first impressions of Emerald Princess!

Onwards to the first Port of Call, a very foggy Newport in Rhode Island. Rhode Island is the smallest state in the United States, it is known for its picturesque coastline and rich colonial history. Check out my Shore excursion sailing the coast of Newport with Newport Classic Cruises. I embarked on a beautiful Schooner and off we went to explore the coastline and those famous Summer Houses!

We then sailed onto to our next port of call , Boston! Boston, the capital of Massachusetts, it is a City steeped in American history and renowned for its vibrant cultural scene, historic landmarks, and world-class universities! Check out my Vlog, I filmed it on a Princess Shore excursions called, the Best of Boston, Harvard, Lexington, Concord and City Highlights. It also included free time for lunch at the famous Quincy Market. I highly recommend a trip to Quincy Market, make sure you visit hungry!

Next stop , dropping anchor of Rockland, Maine.

Maine, a US State, located in the northeastern United States, it boasts stunning natural beauty with its rugged coastline, picturesque lighthouses, and expansive forests, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts! Sadly the day I visited, it was completely covered in fog! Let me show you my Princess Cruises Shore excursion visiting Mount Battie and Camden.

We then sailed onwards to Canada! Next Stop, Saint John, New Brunswick. Saint John is a historic Canadian port city characterised by its colourful architecture, lively waterfront, and the iconic Reversing Falls where the Bay of Fundy tides create a fascinating natural phenomenon. I vlogged my Saint John Highlights and Reversing Rapids Shore excursion. Which also included a visit to the Old Market and the Carleton Martello Tower. The highlight of the day was the foggy departure, when we needed quite a bit of help…

Sadly our visit to Halifax was cancelled, as we needed to rush back towards New York, to safely dodge Hurricane Lee which was heading right for us. We unexpectedly had an extra sea day. You will never find me complaining about itinerary changes, as the Cruise Line ALWAYS has the passenger, crew and ships safetly at heart!

I had a very exciting invitation to keep me busy on the extra sea day! Fernando, the Cruise Director invited me to join him on the Emerald Princess Daily Wake Show! I thoroughly enjoyed talking about my No Cruise Control, here is the vlog recording of it, if you’re interested!

With rushing back to New York to keep safe from hurricane Lee, we had an extra day in New York! As this was quite last minute, I utilised Princess wifi and booked myself two walking tours. One, a guided tour of Grand Central Station and the second a 9/11 themed guided walk ending in a visit to the One World Observatory.

Sadly it was soon time to disembark! This cruise was over and it was time to fly home, however, I’d treated myself to a final Shore excursion exploring New York (including exploring around the Rockefeller Centre and Central Park) with Princess and then a drop off at JFK airport at the end, to start my journey home.

I highly recommend a Cruise on the East coast of the US and Canada!

I included some more vlogs in my Emerald Princess , NYC, New England and Canada Cruise, which you can watch below. A vlog about the delicious food on board the Emerald Princess and a vlog showing you a visit to the Navigational Bridge. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to ask any questions about the ship or itinerary and I shall try and answer!
